An Old Journal Entry

Looking out onto the garden I see again what beauty you have created. Flowers are so incredible. Like people, each one is unique. Each variety brings its own beauty and fragrance. Each brings its own growth pattern, from trailing flowers to those reaching high. How boring it would be if they were all the same.

Some flowers need delicate care and pruning. Some are robust and need little care. Some seeds are caught by the wind to be planted and some are rooted close. Even soil needs are different, from arid and dry to moist mulch.

Some flowers grow in the wild and some in a greenhouse. You have created each one unique with unique needs. You are the Master Gardener.

Forgive me when I expect all people to be the same and have the same needs. Show me how to garden. Give my roots length and strength to touch those around me.

Thank you for creating me unique.
